This year the organizers of the Sheltie - show make a correct decision to have two big shows in one weekend, making a wonderful party for the sheltie-lovers! So in one time we have a possibility to visit World Show 2003 and the 4th. Specialized Sheltie Show (that is held once in 2-3 years by Club fur Britishe Hutehunde). Which was nice!
We drove to Germany together with our friend from Poland Lucyna Zboralska and Renata Koszielska, and together we spent a wonderful weekend that saved on travel expenses, video and photos.
We drove in Lucyna's small "Mazda" hatchback that is special for the dogs! With us were traveling youth collie of ukrainian breeding "Yulek" (Old Golden Gates Vis-a-Vis) and sheltie of our breeding "Sofie" (Lovely Funny Glencharm Sofie). Both are of 2 years old and already very successful in show ring with CACs, CACIBs, BOBs and BIGs, but have not Champion-titles because of the youth age.
We started our trip early in the morning and expected to be in Krunkel at 21.00 the night before the shows, but we missed the correct "Ausfart" and did not find a our way quickly finally we were in Krunkel at 2am in the night.
Our sheltie holiday in Germany welcomed us with much sun, it was hot day. It really was an international day: a lot of guests from numerous countries (Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Check, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Australia, England, Estonia, Russia and Ukraine, etc) and 180 entries. I was happy to visit these shows 3rd time and have the possibility to see many nice shelties and sheltie-lovers, that calls "Enjoy the show"!
The "Dog" ring were situated on green grass near the hall and bitches' ring was inside the sport's hall.

The show started with puppies (10), all were of good temperament and showed well, among dogs the attention of the people was attracted to a tricolour ODYVANCHIK IZ TVERSKOJ SKAZKI (grandson of Kamajakin Asparagus and Myriehewe Dark Agent) from Russia - he looks like bear with much coat, heavy bone and full muzzle. But the judge preferred a most elegant sable NOT FOR SALE FROM LADY LUCIA (Indian Fire from Lady Lucia x Hazy Downs Coral Dawn) br.&ow.Essers, NL. Best puppy bitch and Best puppy in Show was a pretty blue merle LELANIE VOM MUNZERBERGER SHELTIECAMP (Easy vom Rindsberg x Deborah vom Rindsberg) br.Rapprich-Doll, D, ow.Immeln,D.

Numbers in Junior classes were good, most of them very promising. Here I showed blue merle boy "Baloo" - the son of the sister of our blue merle "Airel" from kennel "vom Stormarner Land". "Baloo" was at his first show, though he was a little bit nervous and afraid, thanks to his excellent qualities and my good handling he looks nice amongst numerous opponents and became 3rd place! Best juniors became WHIGGLEY WYNONAH V. 'T MAATENHUIS (Glenmist Blue Domino x Orissa O'the Highlands) br.&ow.Bruin, NL among 35 bitches and LUSTOUS DON JUAN (Valerina Ross Siemens x Lastrous Isabel) br.&ow.Kosarskaja, Russ among 10 dogs.

One unique inclusion of Sheltie-show is one more class - "Breeding" (zuchklasse) where exhibitors can present dogs of their own breeding. Here I showed our pretty GLENCHARM SOFIE LOVELY FUNNY (she born 2 years ago amongst 8 puppies from two litters in our home and we kept her ourselves by a chance), at this time she was already successful in show ring and had numerous CACs, CACIBs, BOBs, jBIG and jBIS, Youth Ukr Ch. In our ring were also such well known breeders as Essers (Lady Lucia) Zandwoort ('t Wijnmeer) from NL, etc, but our "Sofie" was the best and among 7 entries and we received a nice blue cup for the 1st place! The winner amongst the 6 dogs from such class became our "neighbour" from Russia MARVITHALL STARLET (Lynaire Boy Blue x Scandyline Little Xclusion) br.&ow.Tsaruk.

Open class was also numerous: 33 dogs and 31 bitches, including 18 dogs and 10 bitches with "excellent" mark. In open class I saw some new and interesting stud dogs, we are the owners of some bitches and many of our puppies live in Europe, so I have an interest to see the dogs not only as show shelties but also as stud dogs. The most attractive in that case were blue merle Intermezzo in Blue of Dangerous Dream from Germany (son of Faradale Freesbee for Grandgables) - 3rd place. Winner of the class was SULTAN DI TERRIBLE DES MILLE ECLATS DES TOURNESOLS (Dippersmoor Dignified x New Jersey Blonde des Romarins de Mayerling) br.&ow.Trojani, Fr.
The leader among open bitches was ST KILDA'S PRIDE AND JOY (Moorwood Orange Blazon x St Kilda's Victory Made) br.&ow.Lauritzen, Norway- Top Sheltie of the Year 2002 in Norway, World Winner 2002, she was in her best condition, full of coat with good bone and excellent body.

The Champions were super and best presented and most were taking "excellent". Here was shown Ukrainian bitch Joconda's Smile Sable Sympathy (MdCh and RussCh), she received "very good". Best champions became HARLEQUIN DI SILVASPINA and TRUE LOVE DI SILVASPINA from Spain: excellent presentation and grooming, both shelties where in best condition!

In the Best of Show ring, all winners of the classes except Russian entries The winner became "Pride And Joy". I would like to say that our "Sofie" was very popular during demonstration of the movement of all winners and many people looked with much attention and interest, and when "Sofie" appeared in the center of the ring all spectators starts to applaud!

Ornaments of the show were veterans, this year in the veteran Parade took part 13 oldies, the oldest among them was ountford Early Light (14,5 years). Best Veteran became ST KILDA'S VICTORY MADE (12 ? years) (Stationhill Speculator x Macheather's Hanna) br.&ow.Lauritzen, Norw. - Nor. Swe. Dk Ch, 23xBest veteran, 2xvBIS, the mother of 6 champions and 2 World Winners, also the mother of the winner of Sheltie Show. Victory Maid looked super, thanks to her wonderful movement she can beat any junior!
Best veteran among dogs became ZYGOTES GOLDEN BOW (10 years) (Zygotes Charly Bow x Zygotes Honey for Me), br.Sharland, GB, ow.Brockhous, D.
